Welcome to the “Welcome to Paradise Signs” official website. We are a group of volunteers (The Sign Committee) dedicated to replacing the signs at the gateways to Paradise on Skyway and Clark Road that were destroyed in the 2018 Camp Fire.
The sign committee has been meeting periodically over the past several months to discuss and develop a thoughtful plan that will allow the community to provide input and assist through a submission and selection process outlined below.
Also, the Sign Committee has set up a fund through the North Valley Community Foundation to facilitate donations. This fund will allow donors to receive a tax deduction for their contributions to the projects. The ultimate goal will be to fund the sign reconstructions through tax deductible donations. Community Voted Sign Design
Many thanks to Paradise Ridge residents for providing input on the new welcome signs to be constructed on the Skyway and Clark Road to at the gateway to Paradise. The Sign Committee is pleased to announce that its public engagement process has yielded a winner.
The Sign Committee would like to thank all Designers who contributed their talents and heartfelt designs towards the new Paradise Sign design. Below please find the final ranking of the Community Vote.
Brian Firth Landscape Architect, Inc, from Chico, received the majority vote with its option “B” by a margin of 17 percent.

Below is the design of our community’s new sign. As you will see, important elements from the original sign are incorporated into the new design—in direct response to comments on the Paradise Sign Rebuild website and hand written votes and comments received at the Sign Committee’s booth at Johnny Appleseed Days.
The sign will include the original slogan, with the addition of “Ridge-Strong-Resilient” on the vertical columns, repurposed original sawtooth halo with stronger, fire resistant materials.
Final Design
The Process
Now that the design, voting, construction plans, permitting and now bidding is complete, we are excited to announce we are in process of the installation of the sign! Soon on your trip up the Skyway, you will see the new sign in place with the final cedar inserts and lettering to go up in the coming weeks.

We ask the community to be involved
We urge the community to be involved with the rebirthing processing of our beautiful city on the ridge. Your input matters. We ask the community to assist the Sign Committee with a vision of a new sign and voting on the final chosen designs once the are live. This community will be built through your voice. It is time to create a positive change for the ridge but first we need to welcome everyone back with a beautiful sign that will be treasured for generations to come, similar to our sign that was lost in the Camp Fire.
